Meet your stylist

Hi, I’m Elena.

There’s a moment near the end of most appointments where someone turns their head in the mirror and just grins. Twelve years in, that’s still the part I do this for.

Somewhere in those years I fell hard for painting hair: soft, lived-in color that grows out without a hard line, so you can go four or five months between visits instead of chasing a root every three weeks.

I rent my own chair in a little studio collective off Depot Street, so it’s just the two of us start to finish: no hand-offs, no assistant finishing your color, no rush to the next seat. We’ll start by talking through what you actually want (bring the screenshots), and there’s always tea on.

What it costs

Starting prices, because color is quoted at your consult once I’ve seen your hair. You always get the number before we begin.

A little of the color

First time in years I made it five months without my color looking grown out. Elena actually listens.

Questions I hear a lot

How much does balayage cost?

Balayage starts at $185 and includes a gloss and style. Color is quoted at your consult once I’ve seen your hair, and you always get the number before we begin. Most first-time color appointments run two to three hours.

Do I need a consultation first?

For any color change, yes, and it’s free. A ten-minute consult lets me see your hair in person, hear what you want, and give you an honest price and timeline before you book the actual appointment.

How often will I need to come back?

That’s the point of lived-in color: most guests stretch four to five months between visits instead of chasing a root every few weeks. A quick gloss in between keeps it fresh if you want it.

Where are you located and is there parking?

I’m in Studio 4 of the Depot Street collective at 12 Depot Street, Asheville, NC. There’s free parking in the lot off Roberts Street, and the studio is at the top of the stairs.

Ready for color you don’t have to babysit?

Tell me what you’re after and I’ll get back to you with a time. Consults are always free.
